Beetles were reared on black-eyed peas and garbanzo beans. 

Beetles were from the LB strain and adapted to their host bean for many generations.

Beetles were extracted with QIAGEN DNA-Easy kits.

Sequences are for the v3-v4 region.

MiSeq sequencing was done by CD-Genomics.
