These data were collected by Joshua Liggins and Lawrence Blumer at Morehouse College in Fall 2019 and Spring 2020. Female parent beetles were reared on blackeye peas and allowed to lay eggs on both blackeye peas and adzuki beans. For each parent female, two female offspring were collected, one from blackeye peas and one from adzuki beans. There were a total of 9 different parent (mother) groups. Equal numbers of female offspring were collected (N=9)from blackeye peas and from adzuki beans(N=9)for a total of 18 samples. Data set also includes one negative controls. Parent beetles were from the SI-3 strain adapted to their blackeye pea host bean for many generations. Beetles were adults. Beetles were surface-sterilized. Beetles were extracted with QIAGEN DNA-Easy kits. Sequences are for the v4 region. MiSeq sequencing was done by MrDNA labs. For more information, contact Lawrence Blumer .
