These data were collected by James Godde at the Monmouth College in Fall 2023. Beetles were reared on Blackeye peas. Some samples were from beetles newly dead (N=5)and others were from beetles long dead (N=7). Data set does not include a negative control. Newly dead beetles were adults that had emerged 24 hours prior to being processed for DNA extraction. Long dead beetles were adults that died of natural causes (approximately 2-weeks after emergence) and were held at 30C for 2-weeks after death prior to processing for DNA extraction. Beetles were from the LB strain adapted to their host bean for many generations. Beetles were adult both males and females. Beetles were surface-sterilized. Beetles were extracted with QIAGEN DNA-Easy kits. Sequences are for the v4 region. MiSeq sequencing was done by MrDNA labs. For more information, contact James Godde .
